❓How Many Pets You Can Have?
Pet Limit by Home Size:
Condo < 80 m² 1 pet
Condo > 80 m² 2 pets
Home 80 m² 2 pets
Home 80 - 200 m² 3 pets
Home 200 - 400 m² 4 pets
Home > 400 m² 6 pets
❓ What if I already have more pets than the allowed limit?
If you had more pets than the limit before January 10, 2026 ➝ There's no need to worry.
Just register them all with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA)
❓So What should I do now?
Microchipping
- Take your pets to a vet or a Department of Livestock Development (DLD)-approved clinic.
- Get the pet microchipped and issued a Form 1 (กสส. 1).
2. Registration (FREE)
- Submit the registration at your local district office (สำนักงานเขต) under the BMA.
- Report the actual number of animals you currently have.
✅Sterilization is Recommended
- Get your pets spayed/neutered (Free services available at BMA clinics)
Deadline to register: April 9, 2026
❓ What if new pets are added after January 10, 2026?
Must register the pet within 120 days after their birth or 30 days after having the pet.
*If you have already exceeded the pet limit by home size, adding more pets may not be permitted. Keep track of BMA’s latest updates and guidelines
❓What if I Rescue strays?
In situations such as unexpected pregnancies or taking in stray animals in need, the BMA has stated that they are considering flexible solutions to support compassionate caregivers while maintaining proper animal control.

- Responsible pet care
